I’ve been a happy Data Age Customer since 1991. The experience I had with a software company in the rent to own business made me really appreciate the guys at Data Age. I co-own 5 pawn shops and Pawn Master is the only software we use. We feel the guys at Data Age really listen when we request an enhancement. Even though they’re computer guys, they understand the day to day workings of a pawn shop and are forever tweaking the software to make our lives easier. We have been very happy with the DOS version, but we are now converting to the Windows version. The Windows version is the crowning achievement of years of development and experience in pawn industry. After a brief training session, our co-workers were off and running. Much effort was taken to reduce key strokes with license scanning and pull down item description fields. The elimination of all impact printers is nice. The laser printers are quiet and fast. I’m currently converting all my stores.

We buy all of our hardware from Data Age as well. When we upgraded our last store, everything came in labeled all the way down to the cables. They made it easy on us. They programmed and tested everything before we received it. It’s really nice when everything works the way it is supposed to. We also like the one call support that comes with a turn key package.

At our stores we focus on loaning out a bunch of money and making people happy. With Data Age behind us, we know we’ll have the information system that will not interfere with us.

Not only is the program user friendly, so are the people you work with. To figure out the mess we users can get ourselves into. This company is new age with the “good old days” “hold your hand” support system. We have dealt with PawnMaster since 1994 and are taking the plunge from DOS to Windows. Yes!! One store is running the old DOS program, which is excellent.  The other store just started the Windows program, which is even better. I am ecstatic over the opportunity to tell people about Data Age and their DigiShield off-site back-up service. At first, I thought it a good security measure in case of fire; I truly liked the idea that the back-up was automatic and I did not have to remember or hang around later to ensure it was done. Never did I imagine that I would need to use the back-up so quickly. Pending an investigation, my store was closed up, computer confiscated, and I could not do any business. Upon meeting authority requests, I was able to open up again but I had to get my data in a new computer. I was up & running within 1 hour of contacting Data Age. Everything was up-to-date to the last transaction.
